Ukraine / Russia

Do you think nominating a guy with a nazi tattoo on his chest is a smart move for your party? Do you think having these people in the house of representatives is a smart idea. Playing footsie with anti Semitic communists is great way to make your party irrelevant for the next 20 plus years. You choose your direction.

If you need a definition of a non sequitur this one will work. How about we move the goal posts incrementally, rather than exponentially.

There are things I like about Platner, and some I am not thrilled about. He has obviously struck a chord with Maine voters. They have a choice to make in November.

imo, the "anti semitic" sentiment you cite, is far less anti jewish people, and nearly all anti Israeli government sentiment. It is striking how Israel burned thru so much good will after the terrorist attacks, nearing three years ago. It does not help when many see our actions in Iran as doing Netanyahu's bidding.

You don't think Biden's disastrous withdrawal in Afghanistan had anything to do with Russia's invasion in Ukraine and lower enthusiasm in our military during his term? A fresh new approach to recruitment, played a big part in the increased numbers of recruits. I think your CNN goggles are clouding your vision a little.
Heres what I know:

The Afghan withdrawal was a major goal of Trump, completely set up AND started in his first administration with the Doha agreement with the Taliban. It didnt go well at the end but placing all blame on Biden is revising historical facts.

Furthermore, we left behind Afghan allies now under threat due to their assistance of US troops and interests.

As widely reported recently, Trump with help from the SCUS gutted the ability of persecuted immugrants to declare asylum and enter our country.

Less reported is what Trump wants to with our afghan allies. Ship them to the Congo...or return them back to Taliban controlled afghanistan!

This is a prime example of why the service members I know express concerns with the Trump admins actions.

In an earlier post I made mention of a k shaped economy, that exists in the USA.

I stumbled across this video detailing wealth distribution in the US. It is dated, but likely only become more skewed.

So people have two options then:

1. Complain about wealth inequality.

2. Figure out what the top 20% are doing and do those things.

Unless dealing with disability or some other unusual hardship, achieving top 20% income ($150-170k household) and overall wealth (est: $1.5 million) in the US is attainable. Not saying easy, but fairly simple.

If it was simple, there would be far more people succeeding at this. There are not close to enough jobs paying the money you state to move the needle, very far. The job that got me across the line had over 200 applicants. There is a far greater demand for a good paying job, than there is supply.

Of course there are many reasons. Often people don't have the skills that the job market rewards. A person can get a great job, and spend every dime they earn, as they earn it. Getting divorced a time or two will seriously impact a person's balance sheet.

The median wealth for households is less than $200k. There are states, like Arkansas that the median wealth is under $70k.

Lastly, by mathematical reality, only 20% of households can be in the upper 20% of households.

It's not easy, that's why not everyone is well off. Each generation definitely has it stacked against them more than the last for the most part. I'm no different I do my share of complaining, but if you want to have more than others you have to really want it and i mean make it your life. Nobody is coming to do it for you and I'm not one of those people I like fun too much. Sometimes I wish I was but I just dont have the patience or discopline to see it through.

So what exactly does wealth inequality in the U.S. have to do with the Ukraine/Russia war?

The rant about whether or not there are more soldiers enlisting at least had a military slant to it. Talking about wealth inequality in the U.S. is completely off topic.
