Turkey Hunting the mountains

I am looking at doing a Spring Turkey hunt next year out west.
Will probably head to CO just because wife has family there.

The question I have is when hunting turkeys in the Mountains what are you normally looking for as far as terrain?
Here at home I am sure it is very different so wanted to try and get some ideas on when I am doing some E-scouting what I should look for?

Look for mature ponderosa forest and stay close to water.

havent hunted them but i know i see them in river bottom flats ....and of course coming and going ....problem i have is those same bottoms tend to be private ground
