Trying new rifles this season

Not a complete necessity, other than Mrs. Fin put her foot down in 2018 and said we will not sink any more of our personal money into this operation. What she tolerated until that point was so far beyond what was reasonable, I sometimes wonder how it is that I'm still married.

Without that revenue, I either fund this operation out of my own pocket like I did for the first ten years (no longer an option), or we have fewer resources to produce the money-draining conservation and advocacy content (the content that gets me most enthused), or we have less revenue to keep money-losing platforms going, with Hunt Talk being the most unprofitable of our platforms. If I want to have platforms that can produce the advocacy content that gets me excited to drive to work each morning and creates communities of people who will engage in our important issues, revenue is a necessity to fund that.

Hope that makes sense.

Since I’ve been on here there hasn’t been a pay option. I love this place and appreciate it so much. I’ve made friends and learned a ton. I’d be more than happy to pay for some level of increased access. What the hell does that mean? I have no damn idea, just want you to know I appreciate HT.

I hope you get a sponsor, but what I can't understand is you saying you have to fund it personally....and has me wondering just how much were they paying you to use their rifles. I actually bought into Howa and have the Alpine Mountain Rifle in 308.

My rifle is kinda new. Had a Gre-Tan firing pin, spring and bolt shroud installed. Replaced the J-lock of over 25 years. mtmuley

We pulled the J lock off of my 7 rem mag when Van Franke blue printed the bolt. He’s a magician in his gun shop.

Ive got a Tikka build project. Bought a 7.08 last year. Might upgrade the stock next year. Mount a scope sometime.

Well, Ruger eliminated the 77s and No.1s (maybe influenced by 25% Beretta ownership, maybe by market demand, who knows), and S&W bought Savage, so their fate is unknown.

Makes me wonder if HOWA is being sold off, nothing more than a guess though.
