Trophy Roosevelt or Trophy Rocky?

My largest bull was a Roosie. I think it comes down to number of tags in relation to number of elk. They've got get old to get really big. The coastal range is so hard to hunt that not alot of guys are dumb enough to dive off into that crap. It seems that there are alot of private ranches to hunt throphy Rockies, if your willing to pay.

Beats the hell out of me

I've only killed 9 elk in my life and they have all been cows

In Washington a RM is easier to get a "trophy" just because of restrictions, spike only has allowed permit holders to harvest more mature bulls, while the 3 pt restriction on the west side directs harvest at 2-3 y/o+ bulls.
They have to live to be older to get bigger...
But some roosies live a long time due to where they live, cannot harvest them if you cannot see them.

Also, check out the shows, everyone hunts RM, very few "professionals" have harvested a Roosevelt of any size on Video, especially on public land.
