Travel Trailer/Truck Rental in Wyoming

Your plan could go well or really , really bad. Do an air bnb, motel or tent camp to put the odds of a good hunt more in your favor.

Hey guys sorry I went MIA after the thread started I havent had access to the internet since lol but all the advice is good and unfortunately it seems like this may not be in the cards, just too many moving parts. The original plan was Airbnb but we started thinking the travel trailer might be a fun option. I appreciate everyone's input on the subject though, maybe some day I'll be able to work it out another way

I drove from mt to southern co and back last weekend and as soon as I got on I80 there were big overhead signs that said “closed to high profile vehicles (campers) under 20k gross next 200 miles due to high winds”.
Its still up. Has been all week.

Glad you did okay.

For anyone else with that idea that stumbles on this thread - this is from a few days ago and can happen about anytime in WY.

Budget Idea....

Rent a Uhaul box truck and outfit it with an air mattress, 1 or 2 burner campstove, coolers and camp chairs. You could buy them all at Walmart online and pick them up in Wyoming along with 5 days of groceries. Pack your Antelope in the cooler for the plane trip home, UPS the other gear back home or donate it to Goodwill in Casper, Denver or wherever and get a receipt for taxes.

if you are willing to tent camp then you could just rent an SUV with AWD....

I've done this on summer scouting trips for elk. Only I checked my 49 Pound duffle and plastic tote of camp gear and carried on my Badlands 2200 backpack.
