Toughest Man in Montana

southern georgia has a remarkable illiterate hillybilly infestation.

Captain Dave has a southern accent, no doubt about it. You southerners probably just dont recognize it.

RD, I agree with your accent opinion. Definitely southern. But, isn't your Momma from southern Georgia?

Now you guys don't seriously expect anyone to believe you're more expert on Southern accents than a Southerner do you? You can go anywhere in the South, listen to the locals for a few minutes, travel 20 miles to the next town and the accent will be different, sometimes only two or three miles, so there is no real Southern accent, just thousands of similar sounding accents which sound the same to Montanans and other outsiders. How do I know? I've spent a lifetime studying accents and linguistics of people around the country, and those subtle differences can be detected in all parts of the country. Not everyone can detect the differences; you have to have an ear for it, similar to a musician who plays by ear, and I've been cursed or blessed with such an ability. With media saturation and the mobility of Americans since WWII the differences are gradually diminishing, but they're still there strong in backwater spots.

If Pfizer could put the accent of a true Georgia southern belle in pill form, it would replace Viagra.

....fact.

I won't argue the point. but he's not Southern. I've been trying to point out the absurdity of someone so far removed geographically from the South, whose concept of a Southern accent is those attempts made by Hollywood and the equally lame TV industry. Some folks really need to get out and see their country more.

My Momma is from southern Bitterroot which is the redneck equivalent, or possibly worse.

I bet Captain Dave has watched too many southern boy hunting TV shows. I bet he watches alot of Michael Waddell and the gang. Those pudgy cheeked southern boys with patches of facial hair are tough muthers.....
