Tough SOB

[Wild Bill]

Quite a story for this fella to tell the rest of his life. Very lucky guy.
Tough, too.

Man impaled by own trekking pole then hiked more than 10 miles to safety

He was ascending Granite Peak, Montana's tallest mountain at 12,799 feet, with two friends when he slipped on rocks.

Yowza!

[Irrelevant]

Because he didn't want to go bankrupt calling in a helicopter evacuation

[Straight Arrow]

Tough, too.

Yep ... and as soon as they extracted that trekking pole spear, he begin planning his next attempt at climbing Granite Peak.

Fortunate outcome. Dude was real estate lucky...location, location, location.

[Nameless Range]

Pretty badass story. He obviously made the right decision, but it would've been tragic if halfway down the mountain he started having problems. Tough call.

Don't know what his pole ends were like but yea I think I'm good with just keeping the fat rubber ends on mine.
