My Dad died a week ago. He was my favorite hunting and fishing partner, life is never going to be the same. It was fun the way our roles had changed. When I was young he taught me about the outdoors, through the middle we were partners and in the end I took him when it became difficult for him by himself. It was almost like he became a child again, he was as excited to kill a grouse or a deer at 83 as any kid I know. RIP Dad I'll miss you forever

Sorry for your loss. You were lucky to have him for so many years. I lost my mine before we got to that stage where he needed more help from me than I did from him.

Really really sorry man. I know that is a terrible gut punch. I don’t have any kind of advice or anything, just take care of yourself.

Sorry for your loss. That's a hard one. I too lost my father in 2012. I continue the outdoor activities that he taught me just as your father taught you. I know my dad would want me to continue doing the things we loved to do together so much with our families and friends. I hope you do not stop doing those things.

Thanks, I definitely will continue doing what I love. The outdoors is what will get me through this

I’m glad you knew him for as long as you did, and he continued to enjoys the outdoors long into older age. The loss must sting.

Sorry for you loss. My father died 25 years ago. Hunting/fishing was a major bonding experience for me when I was growing up. I still do alot of reflecting whenever I am in the woods thinking about him.

The greatest gift I ever received was a chance to care for my Dad when he had Dementia. It was very tough at times, but if I could do it all over again, I would and would do it better. He’s been gone for 14 months now and he was an example of how a person should live their life.
My condolences to you!!!
