The 444 Marlin

I would think it would kick your shoulder big time, Am I wrong?
I describe it as More of a thump than a sharp kick like my other centerfires. Fun to shoot. Bought mine for my Ohio hunt. Anything over 40 yards where we been hunting there I consider a hail mary due to the terrain and thick brush and timber. Managed to kill this one at about 15 yards if I recall.

I haven't messed with the 280gr bullets for mine, since the old Light Magnum and Leverevolution 265gr Flat Points shoot so well. I just let them do their thing. (older 444SS w/ micro-groove rifling)

I bought a couple boxes of the Buffalo Bore 270 J.F.N.s when I bought my .444 about 12 years ago. I'm still shooting them most times I hunt bear. Nothing wrong with the higher grain bullets.
