OTC archery tags in AZ sold out in about 8 minutes. There must be 200" bucks around every corner and tree down there!

I was planning to try to fill a lull in January so I snagged one. But it looks like I almost missed my window by walking to fill up my coffee at 8:01.

Thought it sold out or at least went to waitlist by 8:04? Luddite buddy foolishly waited a couple minutes to refresh screen thinking it would magically show the buy button without a refresh. That after he told me g&F TOLD him he would need to refresh at 8.

Brother and I got tags by 8:01 am. Not that freaking hard to do.

I got through at 7:02 pacific time and ended up on the wait list. Not good. The VRBO has been booked for months.

I was entering my cc info at 8:04. By the time I clicked pay now at 8:08 it was on a waitlist. Crazy it went quicker. When I hit refresh at 8:01, the website said there were around 700ish tags left.

I always think back to this episode of The Simpsons when these tags, that previously took months to sell out such as the Idaho otc elk tags, are suddenly "locked up" by putting a draw/deadline/app period on them. The year before Idaho put the elk tags on a queue, my buddies bought their tags in July. All of a sudden they sell out in an hour and people are waiting in line in the cold to get them. Makes you think about the psychology of making something "limited"....

Why were you late to the party? Saw no network issues during my purchase.
My browser spun for at least 30 seconds when I hit "add to cart" or whatever it was. Almost thought I got bumped or the website had crashed.

One of the benefits of federal management of game would be the ability to limit how many tags a person can have. So you don't end up with a bunch of yahoos putting in for tags they wouldn't hunt. Might leave a few more for the 9-5 crowd

Or issue tag numbers with the idea that some won’t be used.
