When i brought this property there was one fallow doe inside my 200 acre enclosed area, next summer there were two, i shot two last yr, they dont have a problem in increasing numbers, as our allocated rainfall was abysmal and i have to cull hard. The stags in the first couple of yr consisted of spikes, last yr i dug a hole in the slope of the land and a more mature stag jumped in, i made a poor shot but did find the animal a week later. Basically ive said that any bucks(must get the terminalogy right here) that jump in will be hunted with the bow. Three days ago i let a fire rip thru a block, and at midnight drove down to check things, when i returned the fallow were around the home but out of the cornet of my eye i spotted a bit of antler on one, so its on again. This morning i spied a fallow fawn out feeding on its own, thats telling me the buck is coercing the doe to let him have some fun. In the next two to three weeks i will introduce him to my new bow and my expensive grim reaper broadheads.

This evening mr buck allowed me to see him at 300 mtrs about 20 mins before dark, just a youngster with split palms. Now next door in the neighbours a new stag made an apperance, nice palms with no splits, which god shall i pray to so he jumps my way. 🎂
