Thanksgiving meal Time of Day

Ours was 4 p.m. I have always tried to get a morning hunt in on Thanksgiving Day. I missed one of the largest whitetails I have ever had a chance at one Thanksgiving morning.

On our way to my Kansas deer hunt. Thanksgiving turkey dinner at Bob Evans restaurant at 7:00 PM !!

1:00 which I think is ok.

Late enough for a quick walk in the morning for bird or beast but early enough that my “Let’s get this over with” attitude doesn’t ruin the whole day and I’m ready for a gravy sandwich before bed.

Growing up, it was always 11-1 at the farmhouse. Everyone sat in the morning until 9 or so with enough time in there to get in a few deer drives before having to arrive back at 11. Dinner was ready usually just before noon and everyone wanted to get out of there at 1 to head back to sit for the evening. After sitting deer had to taken care of (hung and skinned in the shed) and Supper was at 6. There was no shortage of food that day, double turkey meals to fill that belly good!

4 is show time, everyone trickles in around then. Lot of snacks & eats, Little ones unleashed, party time! We have a Big crowd. Little ones served first, then we all feast! Great food, pies, party games, and kids unleashed. Always good fun! I'm thankful to be born American with Irish & Russian influences.
Enjoy the incredible silence when they all go home.

Noon-1pm at the folks house, so you could sleep off the T before dessert @ a relatives around 4-6.
