Supressors and velocity.

Ive nearly finished developing my first hunting load, cronographed the load unsupressed, then zeroed my rifle with a supressor (magnetospeedprobz) ran my data through the federal ballistic calculator for the dope and ended up with all but one bullet going over a 12 inch target at 400 yards. Its my understanding that velocity can get a little bump with a supressor but this seems a little ridiculous. For those of you that are using a chronograph that doesn't attach to the muzzleloader, and have bothered to verify suppressed vs not, have you seen any major differences? Help a brotha out.

Assuming your point of aim is the center of the 12" target, that's only 1.4 MOA shift. Just food for thought.

Only recent data I have, 7mm08, 120TTSX, 46.0 CFE223, 18" Ruger American Compact, Dead Air TiXC, Chrony about 10 feet from muzzle.

5 shots doesn't prove anything. Both grouped just fine for what I need the rifle to do. But it appears in this case, that the suppressor decreased velocity. But again, only 5 shots of each. Using a computed ballistic solution for an unsuppressed load, when shooting suppressed, may result in weird things happening.

Are you calling the shots high based on dust signature from the impact area?
