Purchased a wall tent a few years ago and I am just now getting around to installing a stove jack (used buddy heaters on the first hunt). Just curious what your thoughts are on the preferred location of the jack, side wall or roof? I have read articles and it appears most prefer the roof, especially for those that use the tent for long periods of time. But it sounds like going through the side wall is ok as well just make sure the pipe is supported properly. Going through the wall would be an easier install for me and I would not have to worry about putting a jack in my fly. But, if it is not a good idea then I will certainly shoot it through the roof. let me know what you think.

It’s hard to find tents with jacks through the side wall but that location would be preferable for embers and rain/snow shedding.

I have seen a few. I noticed on one of randy's videos (the fella with the lamas) his ran through the side wall.
