Stainless or blue steel ?

My Xbolt is Cerakoted. I really like the look of it.

I had a stainless/synthetic gun a few years ago that I sold off. I liked the durability of it. But I got rid of it because I think the stainless must have glared just enough to give me away on more than one occasion. I didn't think it was that bad, but it sure seemed to spook game. I haven't had that problem with blue or dark matte finish guns. I think with Cerakote as an option you can have a dark matte finish (or any color for that matter) and get corrosion resistance that is just as good, if not better than stainless. I wouldn't be surprised if cerakote kills off stainless guns in the next 20 years.

blue steel / wood on shotguns, matte stainless /composite on rifles, matte stainless on revolvers

I like my old winchesters , blued and wood , but any new rifle/pistol I get will be stainless and composite.
