I was getting cabin fever, so I bailed from work early and headed out to see how the bear hunting areas are looking. I went to a familiar canyon, but up a drainage I had not really poked around in much, and basically took the steep way like an idiot to get some exercise and see what kind of areas it had at the top to glass up when the greenery starts poking out. I was at about 6800 ft., and stopped to glass a bit and drink some water on a steep-ass rocky point, and when I took my pack off, crawling across the lumbar pad was a nice big tick, probably enjoying the sweaty ride for the last hour. Goddammit. March 13th (a Friday, no less) and my first tick sighting.
Looking forward to bear season!

Pulled the first one off of me (fully attached) last Saturday. Too darn early to be dealing with Ticks. Time to get the clothes permethrin'd
