Last week had warm weather with bare hills, now two weeks or more of below freezing every night with more snow coming. 8" of new snow in the last 30 hours.
I feel bad for those who booked backcountry outfitter bear hunts that open tomorrow.

You'd think the outfitters would reschedule the hunt to a later date or year if there wasn't a reasonable chance at finding a bear.

Where at in SE AK? I've spent alot of time down there.

I try every spring.
It always turns out the first 3 weeks there is too much snow to get up to where the bears hang out.
The last week is when the majority of the bears are taken.

Are they rubbed out then?
