Something not Gun Control Related

"Yellowstone Park staffed arrived shortly on the scene and watched the young grizzly for an hour and determined it wouldn’t survive the adult bear attack. They chased away the adult grizzlies, euthanized the young bear and removed it."

Why?

Edit: too close to the road maybe?

It is interesting that boars will not attack their own offspring even though they have nothing to do with raising them. It's a matter of the boar making room for his own progeny ... even though he really doesn't know that's what he's doing. Also, a boar will kill and eat any sow's cubs that aren't his. If she's free of cubs, she'll come back into estrus and he can breed her. So how does a boar know which offspring are his? Perhaps scent but no one knows for sure. It's one of the great mysteries of the outdoors. Other predators exhibit similar behavior. African lion comes right to mind.
