I’m looking for a canvas tent that can be set up solo. I do most my hunting solo and want something capable of having a stove. I have a 3 person backpacking tent currently and want something bigger for base camp.

I’ve looked at different wall and bell style tents and my concern is the solo setup. What do you all use?

Kodiak Canvas

About any variation of a Flex Bow with a stove jack should fit the bill.
I don’t know if I would want to run a woodstove in mine or not. That damn thing gets super hot just with a Mr. heater buddy.. I have the 10 x 14 but for a solo camper by themselves a 10 x 10 would be more than enough tent and it would be lighter weight. Good luck finding one though they are out of stock just about everywhere.

In case you’re wondering on how long it would take to set up one of those by yourself…. I can easily set one up and under 15 minutes by myself and that includes putting out the awning. They go up super fast.

We just bought the cabin Lodge and I’m slightly regretting it because it is a pain to set up compared to the flex bows. We will give it a try this season and see how it goes.

I can set up my 12x14 wall tent by myself, in less than an hour.

I also have a Springbar.

The Kodiak canvas is made in China. Springbar is made in SLC. Call them and see what they have in stock if you want to go that route.

Wall tent are not difficult to set up, and mine has an internal frame. I've never done an external frame, but imagine it would be just as easy.

I will second this suggestion. I have two Kodiaks and love them both. The smaller one is around 10x10 I cant recall exactly but its big enough for a cot, a table, and my gear with plenty of room to move around. Easy to heat with a Mr. Buddy and a extension for the big propane tank that stays outside. I don't use my wood stove in it simply because even with a small fire it runs you out. Super easy to set up solo.

I’ve used the Kodiak flexbow for about 10 years.

Get the Vx version because it has better windows for venting.

Super easy to set up solo and have withstood so many different elements over the years.

I have a Kodiak Canvas. It takes longer to stake it out than it does to set up the poles. I've used mine in all weather conditions. With the windows shut, a buddy heater will heat it up in about 10 minutes and the tent holds heat well, so I warm it up and then shut the heater off and I don't run it at night while I'm sleeping since i'm in a sleeping bag. Run the heater a few minutes in the morning and a few minutes before bed and sporadically through the day if you're spending time in the tent in cold weather. No wood stove needed.

I often set up a 12’ x 12’ solo without much issue. You’d figure out how to do most tents solo.
