For sale - Winchester Apex .50 cal inline Muzzleloader.
I’m pretty sure I bought this back in 2001 and never shot it until finally drawing my muzzy tag for the first time in 2011 and then a second tag back in 2015. All told it’s probably had about 25 rounds down the barrel and it would print 2” groups all day at 100yds with 295 grain Powerbelt sabots and 100grains of Triple-7 pellets. It is rated for a 150 grain magnum powder charges but I never deeded that for deer hunting.
The rifle features the Power-Jet ignition system made popular by CVA back in the day (it was built in Spain by CVA/Bergara and is very similar to the CVA Kodiak). It is an inline .50 caliber black powder rifle with a #209 primer ignition system. It features a swing action/drop-away breech; a 28” 1:28” twist fluted camo barrel; metal Dura-bright fiber optic sights; a checkered camo synthetic stock with cheek piece, vented recoil pad, and sling studs; a removable breech plug; and comes with the factory ramrod. It is drilled and tapped for mounting an optic though I always shot it open sighted.
The rifle will come in the original box and I will include the following: Ball end short starter; #209 depriming tool; miscellaneous pre-load tubes; and the remaining Powerbelt Aerolite 295 grain hollow point bullets as well as some miscellaneous lead bullets. If you self-pickup in Central Oregon (Redmond/Prineville) I will also include items I won’t ship: the remaining CCI 209 Shotshell Primers, the remaining Hodgdon Triple-7 Black Powder 50 grain pellets, and some assorted cleaning supplies
