anybody ever hunt the Big Snowys outside of Judith Gap for Deer or Elk. I'm just looking for some impute about this area. Any help would be appreciated

I hunted it last year. A lot of the elk tend to stay on private property. A lot of the creeks in the mountain range were pretty dry. I hiked back 5 miles set up camp started hunting no luck seen two piles of crap that was it. Elk are there just got to find a place that has water which most places are private properties. Real steep terrain also.

I have hunted the Big Snowys off and on for the last five years. As 1whohunts stated, the majority of the elk stay on private property for the most part. We have had luck catching them coming back to public land to bed down for the day. If you happen to kill one you really have your work cut out for you getting it out. Here is a pic from last years archery hunt.
