SNOW SUCKS!

Similar weather here...with a crap ton of wind.

Was in the low 50's yesterday supposed to be upper 40's today. A one day cool down then back into the 30's and 40's for the next 7-10 days. Insanely mild winter and we have no ice to fish. I think every ice fishing tournament in Wyoming has been cancelled.
Well gee, I guess you'll have to rely on the stuff you brought back from Kodiak! ;)

Western Colorado would love to have some snow, Grand Mesa has only 22" on the ground.
Man, love Grand Mesa! Until almost got snowed in at 10k!! Drive down was two of us walking to give trucks a little path in 3' over night. Took us about 5 hrs to go a normal 1.5 hr run. Tent got ruined....🤬

"Winter"....and I use that term as LOOSELY as possible, in the Front Range has been woeful....both in very warm temperatures and lack of snow. TWe have had two decent snow events and zeeeero else. Temps mostly in the 50s and 60s. You want to know why? Because THIS dude got a full load of white oak firewood and still had a little cherry left from last year ;) Back home by the cabin (N IN) has been the opposite. Lots of snow and cold......including having the SIL let the propane run out at the cabin (that is an entirely different story). STBX BIL and nephew run a string of towing businesses along US 30 and they have been as busy as a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest. I am definitely in the odd-man camp as I LOVE snow and cold. I like 4 distinct seasons, by preference, Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer. For me the ONLY thing summer is good for is if I can be AT the water (pool, lake, ocean). Other than that I don't like being hot and could be completely happy if temps NEVER got above 75. Add to that cold keeping a bunch of folks away as a bonus. :)

Normal year we would have snow to the first rail on any given day in January. Top of the hill behind the house is right at 7K just a little up there.
Still time to make it up but it better happen quick. NE Oregon

60 degrees today and wearing flip flops on the regular lately. Looks like average high temps might finally average in the high 49s stating next week. Haven’t pulled out a shovel yet. Front range of Colorado is scary dry. Visited my parents in the mountains last weekend and the resorts were depressing. Man made only, lots and lots of grass.

Shaping up to be a non winter again here. Maybe 7" on the level, that after settling quite a bit, rain and warm temps. Saw a large group of turkeys running right on top of it yesterday. Good for the deer, not so good for ruffs.

Good year to be out on the ice though.
