small base dies

bear with me guys im just getting started reloading.my 35 whelen is a semi auto remington 7400. i have been told to use small base dies in semi autos, i found some dies at midway but they arent small base, what will happen if i use them for the semi auto.

it likely won't feed smoothly and reliably. With the semi auto go with small base.
