Shotgun Rear Safety Location

I have tang on most of my guns and really like that style. I have to think through using any other style, which is fine with a rifle, but snap shooting upland birds would be a pain

As others have said, you will get used to it. I have rifles and shotguns with safties in all different styles/locations. Know your gear. You will be fine.

I like my Mossberg 500 safety that's right by my thumb so I can click it as I draw up for a shot in a fluid motion.
