There is a great diagram of a hog's anatomy on another forum. The heart is small and right behind the front leg, at the bottom of the chest. The lungs are surprisingly small, and right behind the shoulders. Go to the page below, scroll down to "Talk Forums" and then to "Hog and Javelina Hunting". There is a biology andshot placement topic, plus an older shot placement topic that talks about archery in particular. If you haven't shot many hogs, it's great info.

This is good stuff, Thanks Rick!

It reads that double lung shots are critical when using archery gear. I'll try to keep that in mind when a boar is ripping me a new one.
