Yep, this is the one.

I have the Spartan and love it. Expensive, but worth it in my opinion I have the mount on several rifles, easy to just throw in pocket or pack and take off. Saves that weight dangling from front of rifle.I've shot several animals off my backpack Uncle Randy-style but I'm really only solid to 200ish that way. I've practiced shooting off my spotting scope tripod with the scope swing down and am sort of comfortable that way, especially when I can get my pack under the buttstock for rear support. So, this year, I'm leaning toward putting a bipod on my Western hunting rifles. Goal is for something strong, relatively light but more importantly unobtrusive and able to be mounted using the existing sling studs on my Pure Precision Altitude carbon fiber stocks.
The Spartan Javelin series looks pretty interesting and would allow quick change between multiple rifles but I'm not wed to those just yet. Any insights on the Spartans or other recommendations? Should I forget the bipod and go Arca-plate and tripod? Should I just spend the time and money practicing shooting offhand, like Jesus Christ and Sgt. York intended?
Are they both quick detach like the Spartan?I've been looking at the gunwerks elevate 2.0 or the tricer-RP. Both really light and adjust from prone to sitting height.
Yes sir!Are they both quick detach like the Spartan?
What didn't you like about the spartan? Or why the hatch over the rest?I have and have used Harris, Spartan and hatch out west. My vote solidly goes to the hatch. Can qd from a pic rail and get as low as you want or shoot sitting to kneeling and are very fast to adjust.
Good lord they're $540...What didn't you like about the spartan? Or why the hatch over the rest?
The spartan works fine but to me seems to have more slop and far less adjustable. They also take more time to extend or collapse to actually achieve the desired height. Yes, the hatch are expensive but it is the most adjustable bipod I know of that lets me do what I want. What didn't you like about the spartan? Or why the hatch over the rest?
I was referring to the hatch ones! Its interesting how the most adjustable ones are all basically $350 and up. Maybe its just me, but it seems like a lot for a couple of legs to steady a gun. I'll have one of the 2 i mentioned by fall...Not cheap but not $540. Maybe we're talking about two different ones?
