SE New Mexico Grouse

Hello! I am trying to get an idea of terrain/vegetation I should be looking for to find grouse in SE New Mexico. I have read there are good spots just north of Las Cruces but, when it comes to where to look for them. I have no idea. I will admit I have never hunted them, so it’s very new to me. Thanks for any and all help!

I may be wrong, though don't think so often, but grouse don't inhabit those mountains. You'll find quail but that season doesn't open until November.
