I'm going to be hunting up there this fall, I have never flown with an antlered game head before. Any pointers for bringing head home for euro mounts? We are flying AK airlines if that makes a difference.

Which Island? I am planning a return to POW this fall.
AK Airines's website has a page devoted to flying with heads and meat.
My take was that it was worth the $100 to bring a big rolling tote and put the head inside.

Check your local CWD laws as a lot of states have rules about importing heads.
I brought my sous vide machine up to AK and cleaned my caribou head in a cooler, the put it in a big cardboard box from Home Depot. I froze the meat in AK then put it inside a trash bag then put that inside my sleeping bag and put that in a cheap rubber made tote.
No issues at all flying , AK airlines will ask you if you have meat when you check in and they will slap a “frozen” sticker that box.

We put frozen meat and my deer head in a Rubbermaid and checked it. I didn’t have to clean mine since AK is still CWD-free, but will depend on your home state’s regs. Super simple.
