I'm in the early stages of planning a sd mirriam turkey hunt, maybe in the black hills? Can anyone tell me how the draw for a spring tag works, or draw odds? Trying to wrap my head around the whole thing, I know it won't be this year it happens.

Like stated above, unlimited tags in the black hills which is where most people go. To hunt the prairie units there's a draw. Also an unlimited archery license so you could get 2 birds in the hills.

There are good bird #'s just to the south of the black hills as well. Shoot me a PM if you are interested in hunting some private land for a small trespass fee. I have neighbors who have hundreds of turkeys living around their place.

Lots of competition around there. Get up high and call. Most guys won't hike too hard and end up skunked. Awesome territory to chase birds.
