A local gun shop has a Ruger No1, SS, 24" heavy barrel in 458 Lott. It appears to be unfired and in near mint condition minus handling marks. 80 rounds of factory sealed ammo and the rifle for approximately $1200. Is this worth picking up just as a collectable or would you pass on it?

Sounds like a decent deal with the factory ammo. How is the wood? I'd rather have blued than stainless, but it seems like a good deal if you want it.

Buy it asap.

Uh yeah. Even if you resell it I bet you could make your money back and lots more

This is a set of 3, but that’s still 4k per. Bet you could make at least 2k off it.IMG_2861.png

I LOVE my No. 1’s…can’t see how u would be disappointed but everyone is different….my friend has the Tropical in a .458 Lott, I love to shoot it n try to buy it off of him every chance I get.

I have a fair stable of #1, not currently looking but as others have noted what you have found is a good price. I wouldn’t buy any of the heavies with the idea of flipping it as the market isn’t the same for a 458 Lott and say a 257 roberts.

I have seen a lot of heavy recoiling #1's over the years in the used gun racks, often fairly inexpensive. A friend bought one in 416 RM to play with and I have shot it on quite a few occasions. A single shot dangerous game rifle seems wildly impractical to most folks. I have hunted the Delta with a Lott before (in a bolt Mauser), and the recoil from a Lott is strong indeed.

True but who says u have to buy for practicality
