Round Nosed Bullets, in an era of high BC addiction, anybody else use them

I cannot think of any rifle i have ever hunted with, that I did not also reload and hunt with round nosed bullets. Yes, I had loads for pointed bullets with high BC's but always I used Round Nosed Bullets too.

From the 117 grain Hornady RN for my 257 Roberts, through the 250 grain RN for my 35 Whelen and in the middle I have used RN bullets for 6.5x55, three 7mm's and of course .308.

Anybody else use them and why?

I really like the performance of Remington Core lokt ammo in the 180 grain round nose configuration for my .308 rifle. Good accuracy and exceptional expansion and penetration. It hits hard like the faster 150's but has the momentum to provide bone breaking penetration. TR

Why even have a Whelen if you are not going to shoot the 250 RN? Not sure if the bullets are easy to find these days, at least I secured a small stash for personal use. Waiting for the right elk or moose hunt to deploy en masse during preparations.
