So i bought a not to be named revolver back in October.
Stainless 357 Mag with Rosewood grips & 3" barrel.

Took it out first time & it only discharged 4 out of 30 rounds.

Called manufacture.
Was asked what color the main spring was. Had no clue as i only had it for a week & hadn't taken it apart.
Ok, they would send me new main spring for ME to put in.

3 weeks later, still no spring.

Called again.

Person i originally talked with is "no longer with the company".
2nd person assured me they would send a new mainspring.

Spring arrived & i installed it, even though same color as spring i took out.
WARNING!!
Do NOT do as i did! Use me as an important learning experience!

Wanting to test the new spring, i deprimed & sized a casing. (You see where this is going, right?) Put new primer in & proceeded to set it off in my basement.

But it worked.

Fast forward to last weekend.
Finally took revolver out to see how it shot.
First round went off without a hitch.
Aimed for second round & front sight was turned 90°.
Second round fired.
Then 28 fail to fire.
This 4 different factory loads & my reloads.
My friends with me fired up all my failed to fire with their Taurus & Kimber.

Called manufacturer again.
Was told send it in, they'll fix or replace.

Now i'm having issues finding someone to ship a pistol as an individual. Looks like i'll have to pay gun shop to send it. Then yet another 4473 & associated money & time when it gets back.

If seems pretty standard in the firearms industry that they send you a shipping label and or a box and you return it and they ship it back. This has been my experience as well as family and friends. I don’t see why you have to arrange the shipping.

This has me interested enough to break my internet fast.

No 4473 required for repairs, so long as they return it only to you.

@std7mag didn't say what brand it was, but I'd like to hear it. Ruger will have you take the gun to a FedEx office for shipment to them. They even told me which FedEx office near me was gun friendly.

I would not assume it's a Ruger. I have seven Rugers in the safe and only one has ever needed warranty work. That was right out of the box for fit and finish on the grip frame.
I got it back with an upgraded grip frame, No extra charge.

If this is a single action, get some cylinder shims. It's just a small washer that goes in around the cylinder pin in front of the cylinder. You can get them at Midway or Brownell's. Or even Home Depot if you are decent with a micrometer. Shimming the cylinder back will tell you if it is moving forward under the firing pin.

Check the primer dints. Are they shallow or off center?

Go to Wolff springs and look at higher powered springs. They are also available at Midway and Brownell's.

If you REALLY want to connect with revolver nerds - Go to the HT of revolvers, Single Action Forum on Proboards. There are guys there who have been tweeking revolvers since Samuel Colt was in diapers. Hang on Alice, that is a rabbit hole you may never escape from.

If you want actual help….you need to state what brand it is.

Sounds like Ruger. Do I get a cookie?
Smith and Wesson for the win.
I bought my first centerfire pistol, a Ruger .357 Blackhawk back in 1970.
In the later '70s I bought a Ruger SA .22 and a Ruger .44 Super Blackhawk. Then another .44 SBH in the early 2000s.

I bought my first S&W pistol, a 4" Model 19 .357 in the '80s, then a 6" Model 66 .357 in the late '90s.
Then about five years ago I bought a S&W 4" Model 629 .44 magnum.

Over the years I have shot literaly thousands of rounds through each of these pistols without any problems.

I have both brands, too. I guessed Ruger because of the shipping issue.

Strike 1....
No cookie for you!!!

Smith and Wesson for the win.
Strike 2....

Its a Charter Arms "Professional".

If it were a used firearm, I wouldn't have a problem taking it apart, and trying to fix it.
But it was bought new.

Springfield Armory sent me a prepaid Fed Ex shipping label when the slide cracked on my Champion.

While the second person on the phone, sounds like he genuinely wants to help, the whole "send it in" has me chomping at the bit.
Can't send it USPS, or UPS.
Been hearing FedEx not taking pistols anymore.
At least not from individuals.

Had to get a manager involved when I shipped my Springfield in.
That's been several years ago.

Whew, relief. I thought a bunch of Taurus hate was forthcoming.

What ammo? Was it buffalo bore?
No.
Win White box 110gr 357.
Rem 125gr in 357 & 38 Spcl.
Friend had a box of Hornady self defense with the flex tip.
And my reloads.
(note, the Taurus & Kimber shot all well.)

Mine just isn't hitting the primer deep enough.

Only Charter Arms I ever had I sent in for a hammer swap. No FFL was needed. Long time ago tho. 2007 probably.

As a last resort I'd ask to be charged for a fed ex shipping label. I really think the retailer or the manufacturer should take care of it though. That'd be two I never dealt with again otherwise.

They should send you a shipping box and label and copy of FFL. I have had to send 2 rifles back, both times this is how it went. Super easy. they ship directly back to you since its not a transfer.
