Friend and I are taking our sons opening week of the general season for their first mule deer hunt. It's their graduation present a little early. I've hunted the area several times but it's been 5-6 years. We usually hunt some block mgmt and some public north of town. Always down well but interested in some new country. Anyone have any info on the areas southwest of town or up towards Ekalaka?

Ok . I've hunted a lot between ekalaka and baker , lots and lots of block management and good amount of public and state land . Lots of average sized deer too . Sure there's hunters too but in my opinion it's a good place to have high shot opportunity . Especially for a youngster
