Not exactly, you need land to claim residency. My CPA says if this is the case, where you have land to live on, you have to be living out of CA for more than 6 months to declare residency in another state…so it’s not just being out of Cali…one can own land in every state, pretty much…
I’m fighting for my property in Cali first.
Are you a CPA? I‘be been using mine for 30 years, and amassed what I have during that time…

Lighten up, TT. My quoted post was sarcastic, and aimed with some humor at the typical Cali or other newcomer who comes here, often wealthy so buys land and locks it up from traditional access ... while proclaiming, "I'm here and now I'm a Montanan!"
