Rain, Sagebrush, and Muleys……

Saw 4 bucks this AM. Good bit of rain and fog all day. Stayed in the 50s all day. Beautiful red tail hawk working the area. Drove in and did some glassing and saw 2 does, even with the rain.

Came back and rested until the afternoon. Went back out and a little rain but it broke off and so we glassed and scouted a good bit the rest of the night. Saw 11 does and 2 nice bucks.

God is good! Looking forward to daybreak and hopefully no moisture.

Started glassing at daybreak but guess what we had?? FOG. Also, the rain made most of the sandy roads impassable without some creative 4x4 driving.
Got to a fence row and started glassing. 5 does crossing a field toward a stand of trees. No bucks with them.
Drove further down and saw 2 bucks close but not shooters.
Glassing huge flatlands and I see 3 deer crossing from another ranch. They are going east at a high rate of speed. Continued to glass a good bit of flat land and nothing seen. Decided to drive north and see five more does.
Hiked a few sand hills to look in those tucked a way places. No dice.
Cross over to another huge pasture with a ton of yucca in it. I’ve seen large bucks in here before. I’ve even seen sizable antelope here.
Stopped in two different parts of pasture, one at beginning and another time about 200 yards from a fence line.
Forgot to mention, I had asked @Valley1320 for his help on the afternoon glassing. That man has superhuman vision. After glassing most of the pasture, he sees a large deer. Keyword is he sees! I cannot see this deer he speaks of.

I am freaking out! How can he see this big deer that I can’t even see? After probably 5 solid minutes with my heart rate up and I truly thought he was punking me, I see the deer. Big deer! Now I know why I couldn’t see him. He is laying down and his horns are essentially behind a cholla.

Do you guys on HT see him?

I set up for the shot and get solid. He is 435 yards away. I wait for 10 plus minutes. He starts shaking his head and then stands up. Only a 6 mph wind.
