Flew out to Colorado to spend a few days with my good friend and do some fishing. Needless to say, i brought the North Dakota cold with me. Weather was not ideal, but we made the best of it we could. Three years ago he convinced me to come out and try my hand at fly fishing. Not knowing anything i drove out there i had a fly rod and that was about it. Being a waterfowl hunter i brought my big bulky waders with. Got plenty of strange looks wearing them. But i absolutely fell in love with it. Since then, i have learned a lot about it and have gone a few times since.

We didn't catch many fish but i got one every day! And I still have never been skunked on a stream in Colorado. Gut at a local shop told me if I can catch a trout in Cheesman canyon i can catch one anywhere. Cheesman was absolutely breathtaking. Already planning at least two more trip this year.

Well done, that's my back yard, Cheeseman can be real tough but it's a cool place for sure.
I've fished Deckers a handful of times, but Cheesman was always on my list. I am glad I got the opportunity to see it! We did the Blue, Deckers, and Cheesman. Hopefully get to some alpine lakes this summer and kokanee run this fall.

Nice looking water.
I prefer winter fishing, less humanoids.
Any Chironomids hatching?

I will not lie and i had to look up what those were. After looking that up i do not recall seeing any. I am still very green at fly fishing in general, I've done it up here in ND for pan fish. But only fished Colorado about 10 times on the water.

Cheeseman is beautiful but I have not caught anything there. Well done.
The guys at the fly shop said it is one of the most challenging streams to catch a trout on. I'm still learning I should have landed 3 more that day but was happy with the one I got.
