I know a few of you have Pure Precision stocks and would like to get your opinion. I recently got a good deal on a Tikka T3x and ordered a PP stock for it. I mounted it a couple days ago and it looks to me like it should be seated another ~1/16" or so as the barrel is at least an 1/8" out of the barrel channel. The action seems to be fully seated and the bottom metal is flush. Barrel is definitely free floating so I may see how it shoots and leave it alone if so.
I did contact PP and all they said was "you ordered for a factory sporter barrel and you probably have something other than that." I let them know it is for sure a factory rifle barrel and I'll have to have my gunsmith evaluate and see if further inletting is needed. No further response from them.
I have a couple McMillan stocks, a couple HS Precision and a Bell & Carlson and they all fit perfectly from the get go so I was a bit surprised that this one did not. Annoying to spend $500 on a stock and may need to have it inletted. For sure a first world problem but curious as to others experience and opinions.
Not sure how good the pics will turn out.
Beyond the fit, stock looks and feels good in the hands. Nice finish and definitely light, rifle without scope/mounts, is right at 6lbs. I also got the PP bottom metal and that fit perfectly.
