Second outing chasing bears in NM this season. For this trip I had to change locations since my initial unit closed due to the harvest quota being met earlier this month.
At this new location there was lots of bear sign around giving me hope for the days/weeks to come. Bears seemed to be feeding on berries and pine nuts. I didn't see any acorns.
Did some glassing and tried the predator call with negative results. I have some time off mid-October which will dedicated to this new area. Hoping it all comes together then.

prhunter 2025 NM Bear Hunt
This is the first hunt of my 2025-2026 season. Weather did not cooperate much as it rained almost every day while we were out there. Not a single bear spotted on this outing. Not sure if the hot temps, the presence of other hunters/outfitters in the area or the lack of acorns contributed to no...
