I got back to working out today. Finally have enough crop in that work is slowing down enough to sneak away. I am wondering what you guys do to get ready? I usually spend 45 min to an hour on a stair machine with 40 to 80 pounds in my pack 3 or 4 times a week. This seems to work very well for me, but am looking for some more ideas. So far all of my applications have come back not drawn, but still waiting on WA and ID. At very least be hunting general seasons. Good luck to all and thanks for any input.

Trail run fo 45 minutes one of your 3/4 days per week - keep stuff fresh. Add this, a circuit : 10 stadium stairs at the local high school, with your 50lb pack. 3 x Lunges on the field for 50 yards. 25 Pushups and 100 crunches. Repeat 5 times. Do you have access to a swim poo? Go swimming! If you need ideas for swim workouts, for beginners to pro tri-athelete?, let me know.

I am in my mid 40's and have to stay in shape year round. I dont have any routine for the year. I just hike whenever I get the chance. Summer-lots of backpacking in the mountains(I'm a flatlander) Fall-hunting season Winter-hunting coyotes Spring-shed hunting. I do lots of walking all year and usually have a pack on at all times.

I'm pretty much in shape all year. If I let myself go, I cant imagine what it would take to get back into shape.
