Positive Sheep News

Very positive news, glad to hear the madison project is working well. Thanks for sharing!

Hey BHR, before you post some news blab on the www - you may want to fact check the veracity of the report.

Just an idea.....

What is there to fact check about this?

"When transplanted, they stay right there -- they don't move, they don't explore, they don't spread," said Cunningham.

This line is probably what has onpoint worked up over. Maybe accurate in the Madison valley with this transplant so far? Not true with the Greenhorn transplant.

The rest is a pretty good news blab.

I found that line hard to believe as well. Sounds like they don't go ANYwhere. Yeah, right. Constructive story overall.

While that statement has a lotta problem's, the original headline was the eye opener. A transplant of a few dozen sheep a couple dozen miles distant from the capture site could actually result in a doubling of the "Madison Valley" sheep herd after only 5-6 years post action? Completely false. Amazing how badly a story can get screwed up...........

Journalism school ain't what it once was, onpoint. What can I say?

That herd was expanding rapidly before the transplant. I would expect the transplants to do well on new unoccupied habitat. Sounds like they were out counting sheep there recently, and should have an accurate count by now.
