My son has always wanted to hunt javelina or black bear. He has been a great kid and done everything he is supposed to do. He just started college but went in with 38 credit hours so he might graduate in 3 years with 2 degrees or do four years and get 3 degrees. My question is what states should i be looking at for either species? We mainly hunt Wyoming and I have hunted Colorado a bit in the past. I am wanting to get started planning this trip. I am also not against Alaska with some fishing involved too but honestly the logistics kind of scare me. So I want to plan and budget for a graduation hunt for him.

Do an Alaskan black bear and fishing trip. Alaska is a special place.

There are dozens of folks on here that have done Alaska numerous times. I'd imagine you'd be able to figure it out with the help on here.

Congrats to the young man.

A big fan of most cast and blast options, but it's highly dependent on what time of year you and your son would want to take the trip. Some great places to hunt bear and fish in the spring, and hunt birds and fish in the fall.

Alaska has always been a bucket list trip. Spring bear and fishing up there would be hard to beat.
