If anyone is interested in Montana agriculture, field pea agronomy, or soil health, I will be defending my PhD dissertation tomorrow (April 20) at 2:45 pm in Linfield Hall 301 at Montana State University - Bozeman. The title of my seminar is "Influence of environment, genetics, and management on field pea grain nitrogen concentration and yield response and subsequent effect of legume-based crop rotations on soil organic carbon". Wife has her masters in Ag science her PHd in Forest science. She is excited to read your dissertation. Said it sounds interesting. She too is a nerd

There are a surprising number of options for you. Wife went to work for USDA, doing ag work with her masters. Took a job that came open at the USDA Forest service for an ecologist, then got her PHD in forestry. Ultimately she worked on every continent but Antarctica consulting. Spent two years as science advisor to the Secretary after that spent 18 months in Afganistan imbedded with SF units contacting the farmers there helping to win the hearts and minds kind of thing.
She extends her congratulations and suggests to keep your eyes and ears open for opportunity’s to build your resume.

Congrats!! That’s a pretty big deal.

My daughter walks at the field house in 2 weeks. Made it out in 4 years with a Bachelor of Science, DIY, debt free, graduating with highest honors, also from the MSU college of agriculture. I’m very proud of her and I’m sure your family is very proud of you also!
