So I am very determined to shoot a larger than average bull this year and found what I hope is a good candidate today.

Our rut appears to be well over as I saw 1/2 dozen bulls today all off on their own a pair. They all were in heavy cover and went to bed early, no cows to be found.

The area is a highly pressured public land area, but has some real rough country that provides some near impenetrable holes. I have seen one other high quality bull a few years ago, 340-350 class, in season but never got a shot. I went back to scout and was surprised to find a very similar but slightly smaller 320 class bull in the same hell hole.

So, if no pressure in his little hole, with access to feed and water, is he likely to stay put from now until Nov 1 opener?
