My niece just graduated high school this year. She's going to Boston College to be a lawyer. We had a party at the famliy farm. It's like moosies fourth of july parities. After 6 highschool and college graduation parties,all my kids, all our friends and relatives keep expecting the next one to outdo the one before. I think we did it again.
Last few years I took my cherrypicker with 40 foot of boom and tied a bull rope to it and the kids landed in the pond. My son dives off the top! Well the crane boom got too rusty this year and I came up with a new idea. The pond is in a valley with woods above it. I put in a 600 foot zipline into the pond if you wanted to let go or land on the other side. It was a hit. Two hours before the party started my friends put up the line and cut down trees while I fabed up the trolley. I was the first to go since I made all the parts, When I looked down the cable I told my friend he needed to take down one more tree. He said it was a big one my brother didn't think it would be in the way. WRONG!
After I sawed it down the kids had a blast. I made another trolley so there was a shorter wait but the ride line was still long.
My phone just rang and it was a friend who called just to tell me he had a good idea to shorten the line. "It" was my dads idea. I finally understand it. When I started talking about putting up a cable my 79 yr old dad keep telling me how to make it so you would not have to retrieve the trolley and I shut him out as usual.
Two pulleys,one cable and two holders 180 degrees apart. When someone rides down the one side it brings the other holder back on the other side. I have 2000 ft of cable so I'm going to move it back into the woods and have a 1000 ft zipline next year. Gota out do this years and moreammo has 4 more girls to go.
