We had a very challenging season. Plagued by vehicle issues we spent over 6 hours on the highway opening day. Had to get the old jeep out because the 4wd in my 2015 was shorting with all the rain. Jeep on its second day broke a motor mount and lost the clutch assembly. Luckily I had a good plan from my 14+ days scouting and the all the archery hunting we did…

My son took his first WY buck on the second day. My wife actually missed an archery buck earlier and never got a shot in the rifle season. She was sitting right next to my son when he took this buck and if one of the other big bucks showed she could have easily tagged out.

Monday wife and son headed home I stayed to hunt the week. Decided to hike a completely new area and see what I could find. Before I got 40 yards from the truck I found my buck…

The buck was super fat. Very healthy and in great shape. Already eating well…

Between the antelope and 2 big mature bucks our freezer is decent. Now we need to see who get what elk…

Nice Bucks! My WY buck had a 3/4" fat cap this year, it was insane. The locals were pissed when I told them about it. Said it meant a terrible winter was ahead for them. I figured it meant he was loading up on fat for the upcoming rut (and winter).
