I mentioned that we bought our old homestead/camp. I was born in this place, and lived here until I was about 10, two of my brothers were also born here. I am the oldest of them all so I have more memories. Over the years, it went from my parents to my one uncle who died about 5 years ago leaving it to my cousin. She sold it to us in the beginning of May. This is what it looked like before we bought it.
Back porch, with some folks over for a venison roast.
One week after we bought it. The block wall left standing was built about 10 years ago to replace the back rotted out wall. We decided we could still use it.
We don't mess around. This is whats left of the original structure. We have to burn all this shit.
It took a week to get the foundation layed, and the materials to get in. We hired some Amish guys to build the structure, and they started to frame yesterday. After the brothers and I got all the arguing out of the way. This is where they were as of 11am yesterday morning.
They will be done with the framing and floor pour by next Wednesday.
A little video I shot yesterday morning...look at the color of the carpet they put in that new room...YUCK. But the Amish said they would take it if we didn want it.

Talk about a major overhaul! Looks good and a vast improvement over the old structure. I'm sure there will be just as many good times had at the new place as did the old. Very nice, I must say!
