optimism in Montana (elk scouting)

I know I've only got a 1 in 1000 chance to get a tag at Fort Peck but I took a little trip!
My wife and I went on a little scouting trip, (750 miles) this week. We spent four days at fort peck (hell creek) fishing/scouting. We didn't get many fish but we did find some ELK, butt loads of "lopes" and Huge muleys.I was hoping to find some so I mite have some idea where to start to hunt _WHEN_ I get my permit
