My son's graduation was last week. After the Pomp & Circumsatnce everyone was herded outside into the 90+ N. Carolina Summer heat. When the family had finally got the Pic routine done with, and we were heading back to the cars....my 75 yr old Dad (fighting old-timers) broke off from the family and marched right up to a Dress Blue Lance Corporal. Dad gave that young Marine a firm handshake and a warm "Thank You". Made me proud of of the ol' Man, and a bit ashamed I hadn't seen to do the same. I won't be making that error of judgement again.
