Looking to plan a hunt to Ohio next year to archery hunt public land. I've been a couple times in the past to Washington and Monroe county. The last time was 2010 but I've heard ehd hit that area hard and it's not as good as it used to be. Im open to trying a new area and open to helping anyone out if they are looking to go west for archery elk. I don't have a honey hole to guarantee you a elk. Just a otc area where i have killed and a good easy draw unit i killed a bull in last year. Just looking to trade general info where we will both have a chance. Looking to take a scouting trip in December this year to my old place and hopefully somewhere new. Send me a PM if you interested. Thanks

How about central ohio, just north of athens in zaleski? If that's a spot you'd consider driving to shoot me a PM.

Go during the late muzzy season, make the trip worth it!

There are some places in southern Ohio that have produced over the years. They get hunted more than they use to, but if you hunt early archery you could have some luck. Check out Tranquility http://wildlife.ohiodnr.gov/tranquility
Shawnee State Forest has some big deer. This might help https://gis.ohiodnr.gov/MapViewer/?config=ODNRLands Good luck....agree with teej89...late muzzle loader might be a good scouting/hunting trip and most people will be out of the woods.

Thanks alot guys we used to hunt Console energy's land around sunfish state forest. Anyone know if it's still any good. Probably just scout for a day or so this year instead of buying a tag. Just figured dec would be better than going this summer.
