My brother and I went high for grouse on a rainy day

This is what we were hunting in. About 8,500 feet right here. Some really good timber to walk.

My brother's dog, Clancy, is a 13 year old Cocker Spaniel. Despite being stone deaf, he is still a fine mountain grouse dog, and was responsible for busting every single one of these birds.

The sun came out as we headed down the mountain.

Every gizzard was full of what I think were juniper berries.

The spoils of a good afternoon.

We took the Grouse hearts, stuffed them with garlic, and fried them in butter. A good treat to end the evening
